• AAC

AAC (Advanced Audio Coding) – is a standardized, lossy compression and encoding scheme for digital audio. AAC achieves better sound quality than MP3 at similar bit rates. AAC is supported by the majority of modern equipment, including portable (iPhone, iPod, iPad, etc.). The format is used in popular iTunes store.


• ActionScript

ActionScript is an object-oriented language owned by Adobe Systems. It is a dialect of ECMAScript (meaning it has the same syntax and semantics of the more widely known JavaScript), and is used primarily for the development of websites and software targeting the Adobe Flash Player platform, used on Web pages in the form of embedded SWF files.


• AppleScript

AppleScript – is a scripting language worked out by Apple Inc. AppleScript is used mainly for running of repetitive computer tasks and allows to combine several applications into unified automatized complex.


• Application

Application – is a computer program that performs singular or multiple related specific tasks and intended for interaction with user. Application usually doesn’t apply computer capabilities directly in contrast with system software functioning.


• ASF

ASF( Advanced Systems Format/Advanced Streaming Format/ Active Streaming Format) – is Microsoft digital audio and video format of streaming media. ASF is the part of the Windows Media framework.


• Audio

Audio is an electrical or other representation of sound.


• Audio format

Audio format – is a standard of digital audio that is created by definite algorithm of sound editing. The structure and the way of keeping audio file on digital media depend on its format. Different audio formats supports by different audio players and devices. For example, MacVide Audio Recorder enables creating files in mp3 and iPod mp4 formats.


• Automator

Automator – is an application developed by Apple for Mac OS X that enables creation of scripts for automating different repetitive tasks. Automator can work with a wide variaty of  programs including third-party applications such as Microsoft Office and AdobePhotoshop.


• AVI

AVI (Audio Video Interleaved) - is a multimedia container format developed by Microsoft. AVI files can contain audio and video data in a file container that allows synchronous audio-with-video playback. It supports multiple streaming audio and video. Most AVI files use the file format extensions (ex. MP3 for audio).
